A variety of configurations in a single space are the traits of a modern office. A flexible open plan desking system, which was new to Mayline's product offering, was the ask and challenge for the e5 office furniture line. It needed to have unique features and be able to be configured in an open plan, a benching set-up and a private office.
We started with looking at power sources. At Mayline's target price point, a modular power option was identified as the competitive advantage. The ability to re-arrange, re-use and reinvent is important to the customer, yet hindered by a buildings immovable power infrastructure.
Creating a unique power and data module we invented the foundational element of the system - called the "Technology Beltway." Here, office plans start by stringing together beltways into configurations. This beltway becomes the spine of the system, tying together multiple work station options without the need to run hard power.
The system supports the action of today's office by bringing power above surface. This allows users to bring technology in and out of the office without having to crawl under their desks to plug in.The system supports the action of today's office by bringing power above surface. Patent-pending details like Technology Beltway as well as other mechanical designs give Mayline yet another competitive edge.
